What are Demisters?


Demisters pads, can be used in a wide range of industrial applications. A demister pad, wire mesh demister, also known as mesh mist eliminator, mist, catching mist is a device used for removing mist, entrained liquid droplets entrained in a vapor or gas stream. A demister is often fitted to vapor-liquid separator vessels for gas entrained mist separation column. Demisters may be a mesh type coalescer, vane pack or other structure intended to aggregate the mist into droplets that are heavy enough to separate from the vapor stream

Demister Applications

Demisting systems are used in processes where liquid droplets must be separated from gas flows. Examples:

- Compressor suction lines, knock-out drum demisting system (to protect the compressor against liquid entry) or degassers.

- Steam drum evaporate demisting system.

- Gas scrubbing demisting system (to recover injected liquids).

- Exhaust demisting system (to retrieve expensive and/or harmful liquids) etc.
